Artist’s Statement: I’m a visual story-teller, who explores nature and life with curiosity and wonder. In the stories I’m most often drawn to, I investigate a moment of beauty experienced in nature - shifts of color and light in the late afternoon, the human figure in the environment. My paintings evolve in a journey of experimentation as I try to share the story with my viewer. This experimental component of my work is the most exciting and rewarding part of the journey, for me. I enjoy working in watercolors, Japanese sumi ink, Brusho powdered pigments, collage, gouache, acrylic paints and inks.
